Programs - Summer Medical Student Research Fellowship
A ten-week summer program designed to introduce UIC Latino medical students at the end of their first year to the field of research. Research projects are available in the basic sciences providing investigative research, laboratory research or clinical research. The fellowship provides skill sets to prove a hypothesis, understand preliminary data and findings, and understand the outcomes of research, application of its importance in the medical field and why it is important in the treatment of patients. Working with research teams also allows students to develop working collaborations with medical professionals at various levels. Students build research skills and learn techniques that enhance their medical education.   Application deadline is January 4, 2008.
